Big sweetheart Humphrey has a heartwarming success story! We don’t know why Humphrey was dumped outside, but he certainly didn’t deserve it and, since we rescued him, he has shown his appreciation with love! We were contacted after our volunteer noticed this sad, beat-up fat cat trying to survive in a parking lot in Newark just before Thanksgiving 2022. Humphrey was visibly in rough shape, but he was friendly, so we started feeding him and we quickly realized he was too sweet to be left out in the cold!
Humphrey wasn’t too keen on being lured into a trap, so we simply picked him up. The poor angel was too exhausted and run-down to try to get away (and he probably had no desire to!). Within the day, Humphrey was rubbing his head against his rescuers’ hands to say “thank you” and almost immediately, he showed us he was a total lovebug!
Humphrey is so very grateful we saved him and he showed his appreciation to his foster family by eating entire servings of wet food in three bites. Eventually, this sweet, loving guy got used to being fed regularly and he quickly understood that he’ll never be outside in the cold again.
Wanna hear the best part of Humphrey’s story? In January 2023, this big, sweet lovebug went to his forever home with a warm, wonderful family who will tend to his health issues and lavish him with all the love, care and attention he deserves. Happy life, Humphrey!
