Thank you for your interest in adopting a cat with Brooklyn Animal Action!

Rescued kittens hugWe pride ourselves on finding the right addition to your family and ensuring that the adopted cat will be going to their forever home. Because of this priority, our application asks several questions necessary for our screening process. Please read this page carefully before completing the adoption application below. If you have any questions, please ask them in the “Why are you interested in adopting a cat at this time?” section.

Please understand that we are all volunteers, so it may take 1-2 weeks for us to respond to your application.

PLEASE check your spam folders for our email and please do not submit more than one application, as this will slow down the process.

As part of our process, we will call a personal and a professional reference. We require a vet reference if you have a pet now and/or have had pets recently. We require proof that all current pets are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.

Lastly, we will conduct a brief home visit, during which we look for secure windows (with screens) and potentially toxic plants. Here are two resources: ASPCA toxic & non-toxic plantsĀ  andĀ signs your cat may have ingested something toxic. Our home visits are done virtually.

If you are interested in a particular cat or kitten, PLEASE read their listing carefully before applying. Kittens must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat or dog.

We will provide important information on making your home safe for cats, as well as food and litter recommendations and preferred vets in our area. Please read our FAQs for more tips about adoption and cat care!

Again, PLEASE check your spam folders for our email!
